NEW DELHI, March 9, 2019: Primero Skills has launched training in partnership with Chandigarh Police from its flagship centre created inside the premises of Sector 26 Chandigarh police station. Training of distressed local youth who are being mobilized by Chandigarh Police will be provided under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana under this scheme by Primero Skills. National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship would be monitoring the project.
Speaking about the programme presently being executed by Primero Skills from Sector 26 police station, Jayanta Das, Founder states “ We are happy to partner Chandigarh Police in executing this unique special project. We believe mobilization and counselling of the target youth for this programme by Chandigarh Police demonstrates an exemplary commitment for a social cause. We are extremely focussed to skill and train the youth of Chandigarh under PMKVY”.
Chandigarh Police and Primero Skills have created a state of art training centre with smart classes inside the premises of Sector 26 police station. At present training is being provided in hospitality and retail sectors where the inaugural batches are being already initiated.
Jayanta Das adds, “We are glad to onboard candidates for skilling and training in Sector 26 police station . In the pilot phase we plan to train 240 candidates with a scope of extending the number of beneficiaires to beyond 600. Importantly we had an excellent feedback during their counselling and all these students are a very eager set and attending their respective skill programmes with immense enthusiasm.”
“We strongly recommend for anyone interested in such a training to come forward and visit the Primero training centre in sector 26 police station and can attend also some demonstration classes to know about the scheme and the sectors. The programme is absolutely free of cost and has a certification by NSDC including placement assistance in respective sectors. We have over 110 placement partners in North India who are hiring from us in the sectors of hospitality and retail. Post successful completion of programme we will assist in providing gainful placement to the beneficiaries of the project.”
Hospitality and retail sectors are two of the largest growth sectors in India which has a huge requirement of manpower. Placement opportunities in such sectors are hence much more easy given the huge demand. Primero Skills already has hundreds of its successful trainees working in multinational hospitality and retail brands. Burger King, McDonalds, Taco bells, KFC, Lemontree Hotels, Taj and similar brands have been hiring trainees from various centres of Primero Skills across India.
