NTA Drops 12 Questions from JEE Main 2025 Answer Key

NTA Addresses Discrepancies in JEE Main 2025
The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently released the final answer key for the JEE Main 2025 Session 1. This update came with the noteworthy decision to drop 12 questions from the official evaluation process, all stemming from unresolved discrepancies that surfaced during the challenging phase of the exam’s answer key.
JEE Main, a prestigious examination for aspiring engineers and architects, conducted its first session between January 22 and 30, 2025. The exam comprised two distinct papers: Paper 1 for engineering candidates and Paper 2 for those pursuing architecture. Challenges regarding the preliminary answer key were invited from students starting February 4, 2025.

Handling Objections and Finalizing Scores
Students aiming to contest any part of the initial answer key had until February 6 to raise objections. For this challenge, candidates had to pay a fee of ₹200 per question. Once the objections were reviewed thoroughly, the NTA finalized the answer key on February 10, 2025. The decision to disqualify 12 questions was made as a result of this meticulous examination of the feedback.
In a significant relief for the students, the dropped questions will not negatively affect their overall scores. Moreover, the NTA confirmed that any question not objected to will not lead to extra marks being distributed unnecessarily. This assurance helps maintain fairness and balance in the scoring process, crucial elements of such competitive examinations.
With the final answer key established, students can eagerly anticipate their results, which are expected to be announced by February 12, 2025. Candidates looking to review their performance can access response sheets and the finalized answer keys on the official portal, jeemain.nta.nic.in, by logging in with their application numbers and passwords.
This development in the JEE Main 2025 examination highlights the NTA's commitment to transparency and quality in managing one of India’s most significant academic assessments. Candidates and educators alike now await the official results, encouraged by a process that prioritizes accuracy and fair assessment.
